We cover aspects of the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and other Prophets, pillars of Islam with a strong emphasis on Tajweed and Hifdh.

All the national curriculum subjects are taught with a greater emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy. Greater use is made of specialist subjects such as Qur’an and Arabic. Both key stage 1 and 2 children are encouraged to read at home every evening and are given regular homework to consolidate their learning.

What we offer at Date Palm Primary

Arabic

Our Arabic language teachers deliver two weekly sessions. These lessons focus on the speaking, listening, reading and writing aspects of Arabic.

Maths

We build strong math foundations covering numbers, arithmetic, problem-solving and real-world application to set up success in future studies.

English

Reading is the key to independent learning and a vital tool for life; therefore at Date Palm the teaching of reading is given a high priority by all staff.

Art

In Art children have weekly lessons in which they are given opportunities to draw, paint, print, make collages, use fabrics and clay

Islamic Studies

Religious Education at Date Palm focuses on Islamic Studies, instilling virtues like honesty, compassion, and mutual respect through engaging lessons.

Geography

In Geography children explore and investigate various places identifying both the physical and human features of locations.

Computing

Integrating technology accelerates learning through interactive, tailored digital tools that engage and motivate students.

DT

Design Technology is a subject in which our pupils are involved in designing and making things from torches to quesadillas.

History

Students build historical knowledge and analysis skills by investigating diverse evidence from past civilizations.

Science

In weekly science lessons, we stimulate curiosity and learning through hands-on exploration of our world and its phenomena.

Quran

In daily Quran lessons, children learn to recognize Arabic letters then progress to recitation and memorization, building a strong Islamic foundation.

Physical Education

Weekly PE lessons promote active, healthy lifestyles through age-appropriate 30-60 minute sessions.

PSHCE

Our PSHCE curriculum builds life skills like self-confidence, resilience, decision-making, and respect to develop healthy, responsible, independent students who contribute positively.

Nasheed

Nasheed singing lessons focus on melody, rhythm, and memorization as students learn and perform uplifting Islamic songs weekly.
